Ministry and Pastoral Counseling - Drawn
to the dichotomy of spirit and the physical universe since childhood, Richard commenced formal ecumenical studies in 1977. He is
a student of both Western and Eastern spiritual paths. |

contributed this as his most heartfelt wish:
"I wish there were no disappointment, pain, upset,
anger, resentment, discomfort or misunderstanding for anyone. Through listening
and communicating with our hearts, we can go a long way to eliminating these
things. "I encourage
and welcome the opportunity to assist anyone, and will do my best to understand
and help. Perhaps you can, too. Start with communication - then we will create
more peace, happiness, cooperation, and understanding."

is to listen."

I want to express my appreciation for the assistance Richard Vanceunebrouck-Werth provided in a recent family crisis.
Even while we were in the midst of grief, he helped us to re-affirm love and understanding for our brother who passed away, and provided a safe place for us to connect with other family members who wanted to support us with their love.
He continued to provide kindness and counseling as he led us through the process of dealing with the aftermath of an untimely death, including determining the atmosphere and intent of the memorial, which was so painful for us to plan. We deeply appreciate what Richard has done for us. We feel as if we have gained a brother, so strong was the connection we felt with him, and so powerful was the compassion he showed for us.

I went through the end of a relationship and the death of my mother in June. I had unresolved issues, and needed some help in dealing with them. Rev. Richard Vanceunebrouck-Werth spent a lot of time with me, listening to me and providing his insight and advice. I'm not "all better," as it will take some time to get over my grief, but I appreciated Rev. Werth's professional counsel.

I would highly recommend
Richard Werth to any family going through loss or grief, or anyone who needs a compassionate pastoral counselor.
On a daily basis, he looks for ways to help others, even strangers. In a recent example I witnessed, he assisted someone who desperately needed substance abuse intervention. Many of us see people like this every day who need help of some kind, and most of us, most of the time, will only help when it fits in with that moment in our lives: i.e., are we in a "giving" mood, do we feel like helping, do we have the means at the moment, is it convenient to do so.
Because service towards others is a high priority for Richard, he doesn't ask himself whether he is in the "right mood" to help someone...he just tries to do it. If the world had more people like this, it would be a far better place.
